I love being handed bags of "old fabrics" from neighbours and people in the village. They're usually accompanied by statements such as "this has been in the attic for years", "I thought you'd be able to do something with this" etc. Marilyn Monroe said diamonds were a girl's best friends - not this girl. This girl loves her old fabrics and odd balls of yarn, bags of old lace and tins of buttons. Heavenly!!!
I've just washed this latest batch, and they're appropriately floral and faded.
