Childhood dreams

Main business of the day - my online friend, Caroline Rose,  is running a giveaway on her blog, so please pop over and join in!! Click on the link below and it'll take you right to her.

She asked an interesting question - what did you want to be when you were small, and did you achieve it?

So many people dreamed of being artists, nurses, teachers, farmers. Me, I wanted to be an explorer.

I wanted to work with David Attenborough. I loved the Life on Earth series with a passion, and it opened the world up to me like a flower, I realised that wildlife wasn't just foxes and badgers, lovely as they are, but lions, orangutangs, vipers and crabs the size of dinner plates. I was captivated by people wearing clay plates in their lower lips, tattooed faces, neck rings that stretched the necks to elegant giraffe like proportions. The magic of the world revealed itself to me and I wanted to see it ALL!!!

I love what I do now, and I know that physically, my health problems mean that I would not be able to take on that kind of escapade, but my heart still longs for it.......

What did you want to do as a child?
