Wow. I just had two very intensive weeks, working on a bespoke outfit, from start to finish in two weeks (I should have given myself more time than this, but will learn my lesson!). However, the end result meant that all the 12 - 15 hour days and working both Saturday and Sunday last week have been worth it. My client looks really cute in her outfit, designed to co-ordinate with a dress that her friends will all be wearing. Personally I think she will look much better than they will, but perhaps I'm slightly biased! Her look is funky and individual and really suits her. I'm delighted with the end result and hope that she is too.
As a reward, I gave myself yesterday off (oooooh, a Saturday off!! What a treat for a self-employed person!) and met up with some of my Scottish Etsy colleagues, from the McEtsy team, in Stirling for lunch and a chat.
We came from Fife, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Haddington, so decided to meet in Stirling so that we would ALL have to do some travelling. Someone recommended a cafe called The Junk Rooms on Friar Street in Stirling town centre, a magnificent choice! The entire place appears to have been designed and decorated with, you guessed it, junk! Each table and chair is different. The art on the walls appears to be a mix of art for sale and junk shop finds and the food was fantastic.

We all really enjoyed it, discussing a mixture of Etsy business, running your own business, as well as some very important other stuff, aka gossip. I really hope that we can do something similar again, and maybe get a few more people to come along, as it's rather nice to know you're not alone when you're sitting working at home on your own. There ARE others out there, just like you!
Great to hear about the meetup and glad you all had a good time.
